달빛에 의한 빛폭포

2월의 어느 날, 요세미티 국립공원에서 날씨가 잘 맞고 태양의 위치가 잘 맞을 때 해가 진 시점에 빛의 폭포를 포착할 수 있습니다. 사진을 찍는 명소인 이곳에서 종종 오른쪽에 가파른 엘 캡틴 절벽을 따라 흘러가는 말꼬리 폭포의 모습이 보입니다. 그리고 여전히 흐르는 물 뒤로 각진 암벽에 의해 반사된 햇빛으로 비쳐지는 폭포는 극적이며 불타는 모습을 보여주고 있습니다. 말꼬리 빛 폭포는 별이 쏟아지는 밤하늘 아래 달이 졌을 때 드물게 찍힙니다. 달빛이 비치지 않는 빛의 폭포 효과는 하늘이 맑고 밝은 달이 서쪽 지평선을 따라 오른쪽 방향으로 질 때 볼 수 있습니다. 5월 9일 이른 아침에 달이 저물고 철저한 준비 아래 촬영된 이 말꼬리 빛 폭포의 사진 속 하늘은 맑았고 별들은 밝게 빛나고 있습니다.

Firefall by Moonlight

Explanation: On certain dates in February, an elusive firefall can be spotted at sunset in Yosemite National Park, when the weather cooperates and the direction to the setting Sun is just right. Often photographed from vantage points below, at the right moment the park's seasonal Horsetail Fall is isolated in the shadows of the steep walls of El Capitan. Then, still illuminated with rays of sunlight reflected by the angled rockface directly behind the flow, the waterfall briefly takes on a dramatic, fiery appearance. The Horsetail firefall is more rarely photographed at moonset under a starry night sky, though. Even more elusive by moonlight, the firefall effect can also be seen when skies are clear and a bright Moon sets at the right direction along the western horizon. Skies were clear and stars were shining for this well-planned photograph of the Horsetail firefall lit by a gibbous Moon setting in the early morning hours of May 9.
